JBanz SunglassesAre Cool Shades for Kids!

All opinions expressed in this JBanz review are my own and not influenced in any way by the company.  Any product claim, statistic, quote or other representation about a product or service should be verified with the manufacturer or provider. Please refer to this site's Disclaimer  for more information. I have been compensated or given a product free of charge, but that does not impact my views or opinions.

About the Product
Home to the original wrap-around sunglasses, Baby Banz is in the forefront of the children's safety market and is on the cutting edge of head to toe protection for children ages 0-10. Send the kids off to school in style with their JBanz. JBanz offer the same quality lenses and polycarbonate frames without the concept of the permanent band around the back of the head. Cleverly designed, Jbanz come with a matching neoprene case and Matching Neoprene Band (removable) for safe keeping! Offering a variety of colors and designs including Pink, Black, and Blue, the JBanz will keep their eyes protected and their style in tact!

My Take on the Product
I had tried the original Bay Banz in the past when my children were infants and toddlers so I knew what the quality of the lenses and frames were (top notch). I was unaware until recently that the company had moved into also providing older kids with sunglasses as well. I was very excited to find this out, not only that it is summer, but also because my oldest daughter Diva-J had recently severely scratched her current sunglasses and we were in the market for a new pair.

As I mentioned the new sunglasses are well constructed and offer fun patterns to choose from. Whether you child is a boy or a girl they will be able to choose from some great options! The glasses fit my daughter well and they came with an optional band that can be worn around the head (it attaches to the back of the glasses) to offer additional hold, especially if a child is running or playing a sport.

Overall I was quite impressed with the glasses and will have to be returning for my younger daughter who now wants a pair of her own!

My Take on the Products
These products work so well! I have used some of the insect repellent in the past and was impressed then and in trying this new product line they have done a great job at continuing the line of excellence that started in the past. I also loved the sunscreen line that they had as I had not had the opportunity to try this in the past. The color changing sunscreen was so cool as it allowed me as a parent to know where I had applied sunscreen on the kids and where I had not! Best of all was the fact that Avon has been able to incorporate sunscreen and bug repellent which is many times necessary! I have to highly recommend this product line to all parents, but even more to all, as it seems to be a line that simply offers you the best of all things!

Sun Time is Fun Time with Kiss My Face

Every parent knows it…the dreaded sunscreen application tango. You try to lather it on as quickly as possible while your kids do everything in their power to squirm and dance out of your arms. With the Kiss My Face Kids Sun Stick and Kids Natural Mineral Sunblock SPF 30, applying sunscreen can be easy and fun. The formula is 100 percent natural and is one of few all natural sunscreens with SPF 30 and full UVA and UVB protection. So, this summer say hello to fun in the sun, sans the tango!

Kiss My Face Kids Sun Stick SPF 30 ($10.99) · Free of parabens, artificial colors and fragrances, nanoparticles, phthalates and gluten · Water resistant · Organic Jojoba Oil, Beeswax and Cocoa Butter provide additional moisture to keep skin soft and smooth · Available in pink, blue and clear

Kiss My Face Kids Natural Mineral Sunblock SPF 30 ($14.99) Natural mineral sunscreen for fun in the sun Gluten free and bio degradable No nanoparticles, phthalates, fragrances, artificial colors or any other animal ingredients

The Kiss My Face Kids Sun Collection is available at Whole Foods and KissMyFace.com.

My Take on the Product
This was a great product that goes on so quickly and easily. I loved that the product was all natural, free of the dyes and chemicals that are in many of the sunscreens that are on the market today. We got to try the pink sunscreen and it does stay pink which my daughters thought was cool. At the same time, the clear one also is appealing as to not draw attention as my kids get older. As you can see in the picture above, the product comes in an easy to carry stick that can be transported anywhere easily which is always a bonus (no more lugging around a huge bottle of sunscreen everywhere). One of the nice things that I found with the colored version of this sunscreen was that the color fades and you then know that you need to reapply this. Especially in a time when sun protection is important, this reminder is a great one for any parent and makes our job of knowing when to reapply that much easier!

SwimZip Offers Style and Great Sun Protection for Young Kids

About the Swimsuit
SwimZip is an easy-on, easy-off UV 50+ protective swim shirt for children. The full front zipper and sewn in protective collar make changing little ones a breeze. The no-pinch zipper flap, tagless neck, and flat seams makes wearing the swimwear comfy! SwimZip's material is chlorine resistant too! Our swimwear protects young children from harmful UV rays.

I asked the owner where this idea came from and she shared the following:

Why did you start SwimZip?
I was diagnosed with skin cancer at the age of 26. Growing up in Kansas I spent countless hours swimming at the lake, running around at soccer tournaments in the dead of summer, and sunbathing until I burned. Doctors are finding 90% of all cancerous sun exposure happens before a person turns 18 years old. I wish I would have listened to my Mom back then and lathered up with sunscreen; if I could go back in time, I would. Since being diagnosed with skin cancer I have made it a priority to educate children and parents about the dangers of UV rays. SwimZip perfectly blends my loves of fashion, function, health, and kids. From someone who knows firsthand the dangers of too much sun exposure: "Please keep your children protected from the sun!"

My #1 goal is to keep children safe from the sun by getting a SwimZip into every child's household around the world!

SwimZip Founder,
Betsy Johnson

My Take on the Swimsuit
I decided to share with you my thoughts on this in a video, hope that you enjoy!

My Take on the Product
In trying out these products, I found them to be easy to use and that they covered the kids well. I especially liked the Sun Stick for use on the face as it simply rolled on and made getting into curved places around the nose and on the forehead a snap. The only issue that I had was in the fact that the product did tend to be a little more oily that some other sunscreen products. This was not a problem overall, just an observation.

The kids loved the smell (bubble gum) as well as the characters that were on the products as well.

Overall, some great products that will cover your children well this summer!

Opt for Smart Summer Driving with 3M Automotive Window Films

As you get the car ready for family road trips, beach excursions, and carpools to and from camp, it’s time to think about how to protect its value – and your health – from fading in the summer sun. And since this season is all about vacation, it’s important to choose an option that does the work for you.

One way to ensure that the time you spend on the road is cool, comfortable, and safe is to consider installing automotive window films.  3M, for example, has a series of films that protect from 99 percent of harmful UV rays to minimize the damaging effects of the sun on both your skin (a Skin Cancer Foundation recommended product) and vehicle interior.  The advanced heat-rejection technology also keeps your car cool and increases fuel economy by reducing the need for air conditioning, while the variety of tints offer subtle vanity options and reduced glare.
