About the Book
When Clementine Wim spots a famous painting being carried away from the Capitol City Art Museum, she knows something is wrong. But when she arrives at the museum, the painting is hanging right where it should be. No one believes what Clementine saw, not even her mother, an assistant curator at the museum, or her friends. It's up to Clementine to convince the others and determine fact from forgery before it's too late.

My Take on the Book
This is a chapter book for a middle age child who enjoys mysteries. The story follows friends who suspect that a famous painting in the museum is not the original. As they try to convince the adults at the museum that it is a counterfeit, there is danger for the young detectives, suspense as you wonder if they will prove it is fake, and suspicion about various individuals at the museum.

Clementine and her friends are smart and use clues and various methods to prove their suspicions. The adults are surprised at their clever methods.

The reader will not know "who did it" until the end of the book. It is an easy book to read and your child will find it exciting enough to not want to put it down.
