My Take on the Movie
This was an amazing movie! I did not see this in the theater, but I was so happy to have seen it on Blu-ray. Not only did this movie have a great plot, but the interactions between the characters were strong and though you might guess where the movie is leading, you still will find yourself entertained. Also, as a father I was happy to see the strong message of fatherhood and redemption for a father. This message is one that you do not always see, so when I saw it here I was pleased. On top of some of the drama that was there, there was also some funny parts as well as some great action sequences. Thus, whether you like action, drama or science fiction, you will definitely enjoy this movie.
Outside of the movie itself, the blu-ray was filled with great extras. My favorite bonus was the making of the robots. I found this to be very informative and I was surprised to find that they used a mixture of real life robot puppets and graphic imagery to make this happen.
All-in-all, this was a great movie and one that I would highly recommend!

I also saw this movie and you reminded me of the most important aspect, the lesson! I grew up a Star Trek fan, and although I’m not by any means a “Trekkie” I do enjoy the pedantic explanations of how technology works as part of the premise of the plot. I was rather disappointed in the lack of technical “mumbo-jumbo” in the movie and it left me with questions at the end. I do remember though how great it is that Charlie starts the process of his transformation into a person that “cares.” The producers intend to make this a sequel and it definitely leaves us wanting for more. I saw this with my 13-year-old son and it couldn’t have been a more perfect movie for our one-on-one time. Normally I rent movies with our Blockbuster Movie Pass we get on our Dish service but this time we went to the theater. I will rent it though on Blu-ray since we get those included for the $10 a month and the whole family can watch it. What I like is that the streaming comes with it too, and they are adding 3,000 new kids’ titles in February, according to my work email (I work there too). I KNOW my son would love the special features on the Blu-ray.
