My Take on the Product
Depending on how much wine you drink you may or may not be an expert or at least a proficient at opening a bottle of wine. I have close friends that are ones that at times have issues with this and are continually saying that they wished that it was easier to open the bottles that they have. Now it is and this product definitely is one that will help. When I first saw the product and what it stated it could do I was skeptical as I had never used, nor even seen a product like this before. However, when I received this and tried it myself I have to say that was very impressed as it was so easy to use and took so little time to actually open the bottles of wine that we had in the home. I should not have doubted the Ozeri brand as I have tried other products from them before and have always been impressed with the quality and versatility of the product itself. That being said, I would definitely recommend this product for any wine lover, or for anyone that has challenges opening wine bottles in the traditional way as this product really works well and holds up under continual usage too.

Sign up now and start your wine adventure!

About the Company
The concept for Uncorked Ventures emerged during a family vacation to South America. While sipping on Pisco Sours along with wines from Chile and Argentina, two brothers-in-law (Matt Krause & Mark Aselstine) discussed their passion for food and wine, as well as their desire for something different, something better.

That something different, something better is Uncorked Ventures.

My Take on the Wine Club
I love the concept of this wine club. Usually I have to travel a bit to get wines that are unique/out-of-the-ordinary. That being said the idea of a wine club that brings this to my own door is great. I received two bottles that were sent through this club. The wines arrived well packaged and ready for tasting. The two bottles were different and were from companies I had not yet tried. I like to be adventurous in food and drink, so this was great. In trying both wines I have to say that they lived up to my expectation. What I found in exploring the wines was that they are high quality wines, thus the price for the bottles. In actuality you get quite a discount on the wines through this, and seeing that I have yet to find these wines in stores around me, it is a nice opportunity to broaden my own perspectives too. That being said I encourage you to check out this club or any of their other wine clubs. They also do offer some cool looking gift baskets though too if you are currently looking for one. Personally, I loved the look of the gourmet gift basket!

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

The VinLuxe Wine Aerator Is The Perfect Gift For A Wine Loving Dad

VinLuxe Wine Aerator
 photo disclaimer2_zps8af35ac1.jpg

About the Product
The VinLuxe wine aerator distinguishes itself from all other aerators on the market because of it globally patented three-step aeration process. Each glass of wine poured through the VinLuxe goes through three separate aeration filters that introduces even more oxygen to the wine as well as filtering out any sediment. Available at Amazon. MSRP $39.95

My Take on the Product
I will say that I am a fan of wine. I can't say that I am an expert when it comes to weine, but I do appreciate a good glass. In saying this, I have to state that over the years I have always heard that it is important to aerate your red wines, but I have not always done this. I ended up trying this with my mother who tends to have a glass of wine every night and we both tried a glass of red that had and had not been through the Vinluxe. I did not tell my mother which one was which, though I knew, and then I asked her to choose which tasted better. In the three times we tried this, she chose the wine that had gone through the Vinluxe. One of the things that I found interesting about this was that it worked instantly. Most aerators claim that you will have to decant the wine, let it sit for a while and then serve, whereas this is something that you can use right away and then serve, talk about saving time! So if you are looking for a aerator that not only works great, saves time and is completely modern in design, look no further than this.

New Savvy Parent Video: How to Relish the Little Moments in Life

Changing endless amounts of diapers, dealing with feedings and fitting in playtime can make for some very tired parents with very little down time, not to mention alone time with their spouse or partner. And according to a new Savvy Parents Survey from Evenflo®, 66% of moms say that the thing that surprised them most about becoming a new parent was how exhausting it is.

Every parent deserves a little bit of down time to relax and savor a few moments with their spouse, and in its newest Savvy Parents webisode titled, “How to Relish the ‘Little Moments’ in Life” (http://youtu.be/4Mj32uviG_o), Evenflo takes a whimsical look at the challenges parents face finding relaxing moments each day. When we asked a panel of moms about their favorite thing to do once the kids are in bed: 42% of moms said watching TV, 22% said sleep and 15% said clean the house!  We’re partial to the 10% who said “relax on the sofa with a glass of wine!”

Parents are also encouraged to interact and share tales about their own ”little moments” on Evenflo’s social media sites:

Book Review & Giveaway - Good, Better, Best Wines

About the Book
As much as Americans love the finer things, 90% of the wines bought in America are popular big brands that cost less than $15 a bottle—yet no one has ever compared them, until now. In Good, Better, Best Wines, a new book launched this week, wine expert Carolyn Evans Hammond ranks the most popular big brand wines by grape variety and price point, up to $15 per bottle. This book is particularly timely given America is drinking more wine than ever and is poised to become the world’s biggest wine consumer by 2012 according to The International Wine and Spirit Record.

In Good, Better, Best Wines readers will find:
  • The good, better and best big name wines under $5, $8, $11 and $15, for each major grape variety
  • Hundreds of bottle images, for easy recognition on the shelf
  • Jargon-free tasting notes
  • Perfect party wine recommendations for specific occasions
  • Trade secrets for getting the most out of each bottle
And because Good, Better, Best Wines focuses on the best-selling wines in the United States—think names like Beringer, Barefoot, Kendall-Jackson and Woodbridge—they’ll be stocked at the local store.  These are the most widely available wines in America.

About the Author
Carolyn Evans Hammond is an accomplished wine writer whose articles have appeared in such eminent magazines as Decanter and Wine & Spirit International in the United Kingdom, as well as Maclean’s, Taste, and Tidings in Canada.  Her first book, 1000 Best Wine Secrets, earned critical acclaim and international distribution.  She also issues a newsletter, runs a wine club, conducts seminars, and publishes a blog on her website—http://www.wine-tribune.com.  She holds the Diploma from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust and a BA from York University.
To learn more about Carolyn and her new book Good, Better, Best Wines, view her book trailer at http://www.wine-tribune.com

My Take on the BookWhile I am not wine expert, this book allows me to seem like I am! I enjoy drinking win, but to be honest I tend to choose based on moods and cost, not necessarily based on quality. I have definitely chosen wrong in the past and have dealt with the aftermath!

This book helps the new wine drinker or the expert and gives them a plethora of information on some of the best known wines (250 bottles reviewed). The book is easy to read and very visual, as the author has provided a pictorial guide to the wines for the reader to use as a reference.

Seeing that the book is small enough to toss in the car or a purse, this handy reference can go anywhere with you!

I recommend this book to anyone that loves wine, but doesn't feel that they have a lot of knowledge on the subject, it will move you into the major leagues!

If this book sounds like something you would like in your own library you can find it on Amazon!

Giveaway
How would you like to win a copy of this book for yourself? I will be giving away five books to lucky readers! All you need to do is let me know why you would have an interest in this book to be considered and your favorite wine thus far. The contest will run for one week and will end on May 11, 2010.
