My Take on the Product
I have been using this product now for about a month to see what it could do. I place the serum on at night. I find that the serum goes a long way as you do not need much to go a long way. I found that after using this that my skin was definitely feeling better than it had prior to using this. While I do not tend to use high end skin care products the ends of this make me think about making the switch. Prior to using this I definitely was having issues with dry skin, but now after a month in using this I found that my dryness is gone. This is definitely a product I would recommend to all!

My Take on the Product
When I saw number name Oxy come across my email my mind went back in time to my days in high school when my skin was much oilier than it is now and they needed the daily assistance to clean my pores. I've come to find that as I get older my skin does get a bit oilier than it has been and I need to wash my face more frequently to get the clean feeling as well as to know that my pores are cleaned up as well. Thus, I was excited to be able to try this again and relive some of my high school days. In trying to psyche to find that it still works quite well and even though it is mostly branded for teenagers or young adults, I still found this to be quite effective in keeping my skin clean and drying out my pores. I was impressed with how well the product worked and would highly recommend it to all, whether you are a teenager or older.

My Take on the Product
I was able to try out one of the products above and it does an amazing job at smoothing out rough skin. AT the same time, the product also did a great job at covering body parts with SPF protection as the product that I used had SPF 30 infused within it. Thus, not only am I smoothing my skin but I am also protecting it so that I do not continue to have problems within the future. Though this product is a bit more expensive than some that you might find at the local grocery or drug store, I can vouch and say that it works better than others I have tried, and thus, if you are looking for a high quality product that delivers, this is definitely one that fits that bill.

My Take on the Product 
I have oily skin and have tried a number of things over the years to combat this with mixed results. When I heard about the Clarisonic Plus I was intrigued and interested to see how it worked and how well it worked. In using this I have to say that I was impressed. I have used this for about 10 days and in using this I can say that my face is feeling very clean. I have noticed that the product does a great job at deep cleaning and it has really made a few rougher areas of my skin to become much smoother.


Though most guys would be afraid to try this, I would say that if you have issues with your skin and you have tried other type of products to manage this without any type of  results, this product may be the product that you are looking for.


I would have to say that overall the product has exceeded my expectations and I know that it will for you as well..

Expert Tips on Skincare This November

November is National Healthy Skin Month and it’s an essential time to take care of your skin. Originated by the American Academy of Dermatology, this month raises awareness about the importance of keeping your skin fresh, hydrated and healthy, even in the winter and fall.  

A vital way of doing so is by maintaining year-round sun protection.  Many consumers don’t know or forget that the sun’s damaging UV rays are present year-round.

Dr. Elizabeth K. Hale Clinical Associate Professor of Dermatology at NYU and practicing Dermatological surgeon, has tips to keeping your skin healthy especially in November:

• Cloudy Days Still Mean UVA rays. Those wrinkle and age-spot producing rays are present rain or shine and indoors or out. Whether you’re driving your car, inside near a window, or outside on an overcast day, sun protection is essential.
  
• Use Lightweight but Equal Protection. Although you may not need a heavy-duty sunscreen this winter, you should still use one that protects against UVA and UVB rays. Dr. Hale suggests Coppertone® Oil-Free Faces SPF 30, a lightweight product you can use.
  
  
• Don’t Forget About Your Lips. Lips are the most exposed to the sun throughout the winter months. Toss an SPF-containing chapstick into your bag for everyday use to keep your lips hydrated and protected.

A Healthy Parent's Guide to Keeping Feet in Tip-Top Shape!

The premier event of New York runners, the New York City Marathon, is one of the world's great road races. Drawing more than 85,000 applicants the race attracts world-class professional athletes, driven to cross the finish line in Central Park. Running is a great cardio workout for your body, but pounding the pavement over the course of a long run can be extremely harsh on feet. Every stride taken while running applies a force of 3-4 times your body weight across knees, ankles and feet. During a 10-mile run, feet make 15,000 strides, which means thousand of pounds of force are placed on the feet of runner’s during the New York City Marathon!

NYC podiatrist Dr. Oliver Zong is one of the premier cosmetic foot surgeons in the country. He serves as the Director of Surgery at NYC FootCare and is on the Board of Directors at Gramercy Park Surgery Center. Dr. Zong offers foot related advice and tips to runners participating in this year’s New York City Marathon, for keeping feet in tip-top shape and feeling like a champion at the finish line.

Keep Your Feet in Tip-Top Shape With 10 These Tips from Dr. Zong:

1. Stretching. Stretching primes the body for the strenuous activity. Stretch before and after running. Concentrate on the calves, hamstrings, quads and feet.

2. Shoes. Invest in a good pair of running shoes. They provide specific impact support that running demands. There is a variety of sneakers for every runner at retail outlets like www.shoes.com. If feet sweat heavily during running try putting talcum powder in your shoes to keep feet dry.

3. Orthodics. If you have arch or heel pain, you may be a perfect candidate for orthodics. Visit a podiatrist to inquire about purchasing orthodics for your shoes.

4. Socks. Cotton socks absorb moisture. For a long run like a marathon, your feet may require a synthetic sock (containing acrylic), which helps alleviate moisture from your skin. Make sure that the seams of your socks are not in an area of pressure, which can lead to a lot of pain. If you cannot find a comfortable location for the seams try turning socks inside out.

5. Anti-Inflammatory Medications. Do not pop Advil or Aleve before a race to prevent aches that may arise during the race. Save this treatment for the day after the race. Taking anti-inflammatory medications will mask any pain that is felt during the race and can lead to more serious injury. Pain is a valuable feedback mechanism that you need to pay attention to during a long run.

6. Groom Toenails. Make sure your toenails are not long before a race. They should not extend past the tip of your toe and should be shaped in a straight cut. If you do not properly groom your toenails before a marathon you run the risk of developing an ingrown nail or even a fungal nail.

7. Toes. If you have a tendency to develop corns and callouses on the tips of your toes try adding padding in your sneakers underneath your toes. If your toes or toenails turn black you may have developed subungual hematoma (bleeding under the nails). This may cause nails to fall off. Keep the area clean and dry to prevent infection and seek treatment from your podiatrist.

8. Blisters. Blisters are the results of excessive friction between shoes and feet. Take preventative steps by making sure shoes fit properly and are laced up so that they are form fitting to your feet. If you are prone to blisters apply Vaseline to problem areas prior to your run or try padded “blister proof” socks like those made by Thorlo. Additionally, applying moleskin to problem areas also prevents blisters from forming.

9. Visit Your Podiatrist. Dr. Zong’s patients who run in the New York City Marathon make appointments the entire week before the race to get rid of corns, callouses, get moleskin, have their orthodics padded, and in some cases receive cortisone injections for their heel spurs (plantar fasciitis) so they can run in their dream event.

10. Finish Line. When the race is complete Dr. Zong says practice RICE:

• Rest your feet.
• Ice helps keep inflammation and swelling down.
• Compression with ACE wraps will also reduce swelling.
• Elevation will help your feet rest up for the next big run.

Summer Skin Tips for Kids and Parents!

With temperatures continuing to rise and children spending even more time outdoors enjoying the sun, parents should remain cautious of the effects the intense heat and harsh sun rays can have on the skin.  As the summer winds down, many families are preparing for their last summer vacation. Whether you plan on spending time lying on the beach or exploring the outdoors, Board Certified Dermatologist Dr. Patrick Bitter, Jr. offers some essential tips to help parents keep their children’s skin safe and protected from the sun.

Summer Skin Care 101

1. Know your sunscreens. Every parent knows that the best way to protect your child from sun exposure is to lather on the sunscreen. With hundreds of brands out there all advertising that they are the best, how can you be sure the lotion you are applying is really protecting against harmful UVA rays? According to experts, the best sunscreens should always contain zinc oxide or titanium dioxide. These two chemicals don’t irritate or get absorbed into children’s sensitive skin but still act as a powerful shield. Sunscreens should also always be broad spectrum, which means that they block both UVA and UVB rays protecting not only against sunburn, but wrinkles and aging of the skin.

2. BEENS. When it comes to favorite foods, parents know that beans are not on the tops of many kids’ lists. However, in the case of sun protection, BEENS is the best way to keep your child safe. An acronym for the most sensitive parts of the body, BEENS stands for back of the knees, ears, eye area, neck and scalp. If these body parts are properly covered, sunburn is 50% less likely to happen!

3. Cover Up. Even with sunscreen, the best option to fully protect against damaging skin is to wear dark, tightly woven clothes. Forget throwing on a white t-shirt.  The light color absorbs more of the rays than it reflects. Instead, purchase sun protective clothing such as a kid’s full swimsuit or rash guard shirt which offers an ultra violet protection factor.

4. Don’t want to buy new clothes? The Skin Cancer Foundation recently did a study which found that simply using Tinosorb FD in your next load of laundry will instantly leave your clothes with 30 UPF. A laundry addictive that contains sunscreen, Tinosorb FD creates protection that lasts for as long as 20 washings!

5. Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate! The National Safe Kids Campaign estimates that every year one in four kids under the age of 14 will suffer from dehydration and heat stroke. The best way to keep your child completely hydrated during the summer months is to have him or her drink at least four glasses of water each hour. My Take on the Product While I gave this product to J-Mom to try, she mentioned that she loved the scent and how thick the body wash was. She mentioned that she did not feel that she ever had to reapply and that instead a little went a long way. I liked the scent myself, though as a guy I do not think I would specifically use it, it was light and fruity and lingered on J-Mom's skin after using it, which was a nice treat!

My Take on the Product
I have never really used self tanning cream in the past but seeing that the Diadom will be spending time in the sun in the near future, it seems that this might not be a bad idea. With this in mind I was excited to try out the products from Sothys to see if they were as good as they were stated to be.

I had heard horror stories in the past regarding self tanning creams leaving a person't skin too orange and unnatural, which led me to stay away from them in the past, but as I started to try this cream I came to find that the cream itself went on very smooth and the results were not orange in any way. In fact, I was quite impressed by the overall results of the cream itself and it left me with a nice tone that will make folks not look and say "Ah...a northerner".

Needless to say I would recommend this cream to those looking to self tan, I think you will be quite pleased with the results!
