Baby Einstein Teams Up with K.I.D.S. to Help Children in Need

I wanted to share with you an exciting new initiative that Baby Einstein is doing in conjunction with K.I.D.S. (Kids in Distressed Situations), a non-profit organization that provides brand new books, toys, and products to children in need in local communities. Now through August 19^th, Baby Einstein will donate $1 worth of Baby Einstein product to K.I.D.S for every new “like” on the official Baby Einstein Facebook page, up to $10,000. We are really looking forward to putting a smile on children’s faces with brand new toys and giving them something special to be excited about as they go through a difficult time in their lives.

Facebook Ecommerce Data

SortPrice.com is in the process of unveiling some very interesting data regarding the growth of ecommerce on Facebook (now known as f-commerce). As you are well aware, Facebook and ecommerce have grown tremendously in the past couple of years. Using its Store Application, SortPrice has bridged the gap between Facebook and the ecommerce industry by developing over 1,500 Facebook Stores, more than anyone in the industry.

Here's a brief snapshot of some of the data we've compiled on the use of our Store Application last year, coinciding with a broader, e-commerce industry-wide expansion into social networking. As you can see, SortPrice is clearly on the leading edge of that expansion.

$3.8 billion worth of merchandise was posted using SortPrice.com's Store Application for Facebook in 2010
1,500+ retailers, including Fortune 500 companies, use SortPrice.com-built storefronts to post their products (full catalogs)
7.6 million products in 53,000 categories were posted using SortPrice.com's Store App. in 2010, 60 percent more products than in 2009

GameGround Gives Away 150 Facebook Credits Daily in Week-Long Contest

GameGround, the lightweight personalized gaming app that enhances games and connects players of all types, today is kicking-off their first contest ever via their Facebook Fan Page with daily challenges all week-long for GameGround users.

Every day this week, GameGround will introduce new challenges via their Facebook fan page at www.facebook.com/gameground. GameGround users who complete these challenges will have the chance to win 150 Facebook Credits every day, which can be redeemed for Facebook game currencies.

Shopping for your Facebook friends

If you are looking for a fun stocking stuffer for a Secret Santa gift or for some other Facebook friend you should consider a Facebook Credits gift card. I had no idea that this was even available, but in looking into them I was impressed at the fact that these credits can be used in so many of the most popular games that people play on over 200 social games and applications on Facebook such as FarmVille, FrontierVille, Happy Aquarium, HelloCity, Bejeweled Blitz, and MONOPOLY.

I also didn't know that you can find these giftcards at places such as BestBuy, Safeway, Target, WalMart, Radio Shack, and Gamestop. You can get cards in denominations between $5 to $50.

Renowned Photog Critiques Your Snapshots Via Facebook

If you ever dreamed of having a renowned professional photographer provide constructive feedback on your amateur family photos, now is your chance.

Nick Kelsh, photographer and author of nine books including the best-selling, "How to Photograph Your Baby" (HowToPhotographYourBaby.com) and "Naked Babies," will provide a free assessment of your photos via his Facebook page, "How to Photograph Your Baby." Just upload your photo and Nick provides feedback on a daily basis.

Mixed in with Kelsh's didactic advice on anything such as lighting, distance, cropping and composition is a good dose of the photographer's humor.

After reading the manual on her camera from cover to cover, Facebook fan Kathy McLoud Dammes could not figure out how to take indoor pictures that are not dark or blurry. Kelsh's response: "Kathy, you're a train wreck! We have to get you fixed." The photographer then personally resolved McLoud Dammes' issues.

Sharlene Meestma Hyink was having trouble aligning her subjects in front of a horizontal line. Kelsh quickly helped her out with this perplexing issue. Says Meestma Hyink, "I have learned a lot from reading your page. I don't know of many professional photographers that would take the time that you have to look at all our photos and give us suggestions the way you have."

Kelsh is happy to help. "By offering assistance to amateur photographers via my 'How to Photograph Your Baby' Facebook page, anyone can capture memories effortlessly and compose images that will be cherished for years to come," says Kelsh.
