My Take on the DVD
I did not get to see this in the theater or read the book, but the title itself sounded intriguing, so when I was given the opportunity to review this I took it. While the idea of Abraham Lincoln being a vampire hunter was very far out there, the movie itself was well made and action packed. Please be aware that you are not going to get a historically accurate depiction of Lincoln in this movie, but instead a movie that is full of great visual effects that will kee you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end! As someone who did not read this book, I will definitely say that the movie was one that was fun. The acting was not emmy award winning, but you will definitely stay engaged and will get sucked into the action and special effects!

This was a fun movie, but if you are looking for a historical account of Lincoln’s life you will just have to wait until Spielberg releases his Lincoln movie. This one is mostly a horror movie with some killer action scenes and a dash of historical setting. I skipped this movie in theaters because it just looked ridiculous, but I decided to rent it after a coworker at DISH recommended it to me. I added it to my blockbuster @Home queue online, and it came in the mail today. I love renting quirky little movies like this because every now and then one really works, and this is definitely one of those. If you are just looking for entertainment value this movie has it in droves, but it is by no means a deep or insightful take on Lincoln’s life as you were saying.
