Book Review - Day of the Dead Masks to Color
About the Book
This November 1st and 2nd, get ready to celebrate the Day of the Dead (Dia de los Muertos) like never before. Inspired by the Mexican and Latin American holidays celebrating dearly departed loved ones―and growing in popularity across North America―this book offers 16 elaborate press-out masks to color, display, and wear. You’ll find images of skulls (known as Calaveras) sporting smiles, bedecked with gorgeous flowers, and covered in intricate, decorative designs. There are also illustrations of folk art skeletons and sugar skulls, the highly sought-after artisanal sweets and chocolates made specifically for the holiday. Once you’re finished coloring, pop out your creations (the pages are perforated), wear, enjoy, and share them with the world. With Day of the Dead Masks to Color, you can relax, unwind, and let your imagination run free as you partake in a joyful centuries-old tradition. Includes elastic headbands for each mask.
My Take on the Book
This is a great book that will get you in the mood for the upcoming Day of the Dead. The images are amazing and once you color them the pictures really become vibrant and alive. As someone that always has loved the pageant and costumes that come with the Day of the Dead and now you can experience it in a brand new way through this great book!
