Book Review - The Boxcar Children Deluxe Hardcover Boxed Gift Set
About the Book
Generation after generation, parents and grandparents have introduced their favorite childhood stories to their children. Now, there is a new deluxe hardcover boxed set just in time for holiday gift giving! The set includes the first three books in the classic series: #1 The Boxcar Children, #2 Surprise Island, and #3 The Yellow House Mystery.
About the Author
Gertrude Chandler Warner was born in Putnam, Connecticut, on April 16, 1890, to Edgar and Jane Warner. Her family included a sister, Frances, and a brother, John. From the age of five, she dreamed of becoming an author. She wrote stories for her Grandfather Carpenter, and each Christmas she gave him one of these stories as a gift. Today, Ms. Warner is best remembered as the author of The Boxcar Children Mysteries.
My Take on the Book
This was a great gift set that any fan of the series would love, or any young reader would appreciate as a fun surprise. The books are beautifully bound and you are even given a CD to go with the books as well which my girls thought was a nice add-on. We had read the first three books in the series in the past but our copies were quite well loved to say the least, so this gift set will now become a nice treasured addition to our library! I highly encourage all to consider this today!
