Book Review - The Boxcar Children: Mountaintop Mystery

About the Book
Marooned on a mountain, the Aldens survive a landslide and find a Native American secret.

My Take on the Book
The Alden children and their grandfather decide to climb a mountain and during their adventure they are stranded on the top due to a rock slide. After their rescue by helicopter, they meet Levon, a 90 year old Indian woman who tells then about a leather bag and possible treasure.

As the children and scientists assist in digging into a cave, a young man named David shows up on the scene with the same story as Levon.

Levon and David are reunited as great aunt and great grandnephew, the treasure is indeed found, and aa mystery once again is solved. The interesting part besides the mystery is how the scientist build scaffolding to reach the cave with the treasures and the other kind of "treasure" found in the cave which was once underwater thousands of years ago.

Gertrude Chandler Warner knows how to keep the reader engaged in the story by the way she ends each chapter. It is a story your children will enjoy reading.
