About the Book

The book starts out with George in Army Basic Training, followed by a tour of duty in Vietnam. His work with the Agency leads him back to Vietnam on a RESCUE mission. DEATH becomes an unavoidable part of the adventure. The story weaves across different part of the world. Intertwined is an unusual LOVE affair.

About the Author

George Ratz was born in Chicago, Illinois and now resides on St. Simons Island, Georgia. George has traveled in all 50 states and many countries throughout the world. He is now retired after working in construction, electronics and government service lasting 9 1/2 years-three years military service with one year overseas and six and a half years in civilian service.

My Take on the BookThis book takes the non-army. non-military individual on a journey through the tour of one serviceman. This book is an open, honest account of the author's experiences and you can simply see and hear the sights and sounds of Vietnam as you are reading this book.

This book goes deep and brings you to the front lines. It allows you to see beyond the surface and into the emotional turmoil, physical strain and love that he felt for Candy that surrounded his experiences in Vietnam.

The book was a good and easy read and with it being written in more of a first person style, you are easily able to get through the book quickly and you end the book wondering whether there will be more to come!
