Team of Moms Competes in National Competition to "Reinvent Fast Food" - For Their Kids!

A recent and very shocking study by the OECD predicted that in 10 years 3 out of every 4 Americans will be obese.  Surely, part of the blame falls on Americans’ over-reliance on fast food. But what if fast food could be…different? And what if it could be different for your kids?

10 teams from all across America—including one team of passionate MOMS!—are competing in a bold new competition to reinvent fast food!  The competition comes from Yoxi (pronounced YO-see) a new interactive competition and social game which challenges teams of problem solvers to create and communicate unique solutions to pressing social issues.  Teams will submit videos for their idea, and the competition will follow a reality-TV style format of audience voting and elimination.  Along the way, teams will receive guidance from famous judges and help from leading industry experts and top advertising and marketing firms.  The winning team will receive the funding and backing to make their idea a reality! 

With GOOD magazine on board as a content and distribution partner, Yoxi has created an exciting platform of opportunity for grassroots ideas from real, everyday Americans.  Yoxi will lead 4 competitions per year on a wide range of topics—from food to education, the environment, and more.  A more detailed press release is below.

These three moms from Charlottesville are especially passionate about food for children. They feel that schools play a particularly important role in the foods our children eat. Outlining the challenge they currently face, Ivana explains, “If you are what you eat, then our children are one third sugar.”
