Book Review - What's the Time, Mr. Wolf?

About the Book
Mr. Wolf has a busy day. Starting his daily routine at seven o'clock, his schedule is packed from breakfast to bedtime. At nine o'clock the mail arrives, and he goes shopping at noon. Four o'clock is naptime, and surprise! . . . At six o'clock there is a big party in Mr. Wolf 's honor. Special guests include Little Red Riding Hood, the Three Little Pigs, the Cat and the Fiddle and many more characters readers are sure to recognize. Huffing and puffing new life into favorite nursery rhymes, this charming story introduces telling time while showing readers that the Mr. Wolf isn't so big or bad after all.

My Take on the Book
Debi Gliori's story is as much fun for a child listening as it was an adult reading. Debi added so many details to the story and illustrations. If your child does not know about THE THREE LITTLE PIGS, THE LITTLE MERMAID, LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD, LITTLE BO PEEP, THREE BLIND MICE, and other storybook characters, this book will certainly assist you in introducing them to the child listening and enjoying the illustrations.

The characters are developing a surprise birthday party for Mr. Wolf, but poor Mr. Wolf thinks everyone has forgotten his birthday. I know you will enjoy the story as much as I did. Make sure you take the time to check out the details in the drawings in Mr. Wolf's bedroom, the bakery, Mr. Wolf's bathroom, and then of course the birthday celebration. This is one book you can enjoy over and over again.

  1. Hi, can i ask you something? I’m looking for children books with “scary” animal illustrations like the big bad wolf (or a fox) eating pigs (or seven kids or Red Riding hood or birds in Chicken Little) or being pictured with a fat stomach. Could be any other animal as well. I need it for my research I'm doing. Have you seen any book of this sort? Any sort of help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    Great blog, by the way!
