About the Book
For the very first time, The Baby-sitters Club graphic novels adapted by #1 NEW YORK TIMES bestselling and Eisner Award winning creator of SMILE, Raina Telgemeier, are available in full color!

Kristy, Mary Anne, Claudia, and Stacey are best friends and founding members of The Baby-sitters Club. Whatever comes up -- cranky toddlers, huge dogs, scary neighbors, prank calls -- you can count on them to save the day. But baby-sitting isn't always easy, and neither is dealing with strict parents, new families, fashion emergencies, and mysterious secrets. But no matter what, the BSC have what they need most: friendship.

Raina Telgemeier, using the signature style featured in her acclaimed graphic novels SMILE and SISTERS, perfectly captures all the drama and humor of the original novel!

My Take on the Book
This book is set up like a comic strip. Each page has several blocks of illustrations. The reader can easily see the character's emotions, thoughts, and the speaking sections are in speech bubbles in the illustrations.

While reading this book, a young girl may be able to identify with the events, challenges, decisions, and problems within a family that she may encounter. The reader will read the conversations between siblings and parents, There are issues with friends in the club. There are misunderstandings. You will also see how the girls' friendship grows so they trust each other more. You will see Kristy grow too and accept her mother's new boyfriend (soon to be step-father). The reader can even feel the turmoil in the characters.

Kristy's idea to have the baby sitters club brought the 4 girls together.

I think a young girl will enjoy reading this book. In my opinion the author had done a very good job with the topics and speaking to her reader population on important topics.
