My Take on the Book
This book was written for children ages 3-5. The colorful illustrations and easy to understand sentences are perfect for that age group.
The story discusses bullying. Toby is bullied by Bradley and does not know what to do about it. Finally he tells Bradley how he feels and Bradley apologizes. A friendship develops.
Bullying is in our schools and world. Children are exposed to children who can be mean and hurtful. I feel this story is perfect to read and then discuss with your young child. The child needs some skills in order to face the bully. Problem solving ahead of time may be one avenue in helping your young child.
