The G-Man Super Journal: Awesome Origins

About the Book
When Michael G (yes, "G" is his whole last name, and that's why everyone calls him G-Man) has to keep a journal in Mrs. Rosario's class at school, naturally he writes about his ambition to have superpowers and join the superheroes of his city (like Captain Thunderman) in the fight for justice. After all, his friend Billy Demon just got an awesome winged flying suit and superpowers of his own, and now he's the most popular kid in school! Mikey would just love to have superpowers too, but how will he get them? And if he does get them, what will he do with them?

My Take on the Book
The book takes on life as Michael or G-Man's journal. He writes about his family, dreams, and who he admires. In between the text, Michael includes drawings . The drawings come across like a comic strip with speech bubbles.

Michael wants to be a super hero. He dreams about them coming into his life and his friends changing into super heroes too. You will see Michael trying to transform himself in spite of what his family and friends say. Michael is persistent and shows perseverance in the challenges he faces and the adversity from the people around him.

There is humor and the display of other emotions in this story.

In the end Michael or G-Man and his friends become "real super heroes" in his journal.

You will find the story fun to read. Maybe your child will explore his or her imagination through writing and drawing after reading Chris Giarrusso's book.
