Book Review - Moose: Chapters From My Life
About the Book
Robert B. Sherman has forged a phenomenal career as a songwriter, screenwriter and painter. Along with his brother, Richard, he is responsible for the iconic scores of Mary Poppins, Jungle Book, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Charlotte's Web and The Tigger Movie, to name just a few. But to fully appreciate the impact of his songs, one has to get to know the man behind them first. Finally, in his own words and inimitable writing style, comes his long awaited, definitive autobiography: Moose, the delightful and unconventional story of a creative giant, who changed the fabric of the Family Musical forever.
My Take on the Book
Robert B. Sherman is a world famous songwriter, screenwriter, and painter. He and his brother Richard are responsible for so many wonderful songs for Mary Poppins, The Jungle Book, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and more.
This book is an autobiography written by Robert and his son Robert assisted with the editing and publication of the book. It was written over a period of years.
Included are photographs of his life from childhood to his final years. You will see him with his family and friends and famous actors.
The book is written in an easy to read manner. It is like hearing him talk to you personally.
I enjoyed the story very much. I have always enjoyed the music he wrote but learned other facts about him: like his moving to London in his later years. He was well loved and respected by everyone he met. We lost this very special man in 2012.
