About the Book
This interactive novelty board book plays like a doll and reads as a gentle “How to Care for Baby” manual for young kids. From swaddling to shushing, Gillingham has incorporated real tactics for newborn care, giving the text an authenticity and purpose. Interactivities include tickling, feeding, diapering, swaddling, rocking, and tucking in the baby, all accompanied by tender, instructive narration. Perfect for soon-to-be older siblings or doll-crazy toddlers, this book encourages children to read while they play, and practice empathy and care.

About the Author
Sara Gillingham is an award-winning art director and designer. She was the Design Director for Children’s Publishing at Chronicle Books and taught at UC Berkeley and California College of Arts. She created the In My Nest series for Chronicle and illustrates the Empowerment series for Abrams Appleseed. She lives with her family in British Columbia, Canada.

My Take on the Book
This was a fun, interactive board book that explores all things baby. My youngest found this to be a fun book that let her not only learn but also have fun through the different pages and interactive displays on each page. She loved that on each page there were flaps and other fun items that made the book even more engaging and so will you and your family!
