About the Book
In this much-anticipated sequel to the bestselling The Book Book, artist Sophie Benini Pietromarchi takes children into the world of color. Illustrated in remarkable collage artwork and written in an intimate, easy tone, The Color Book is an exciting, thoughtful journey into childhood memories and the feelings that colors can create, as well as an exploration of the practicalities of mixing shades and creating a personal color diary. A wonderful, imaginative resource for children and for artists of all ages, The Color Book is an accessible, adventuresome, empowering approach to artistic expression. This is also a perfect resource for schools, libraries, art camps, after-school programs, and more.

My Take on the Book
The Italian author takes her reader on a color dance. In this dance using color, you use your eyes, memory and senses. This idea piqued my interest and kept me reading each chapter.

The author takes you on a journey using her expertise with color to assist the reader in really seeing color: shades, tints and variations in nature and the reader's world. She encourages the reader to think of color as producing emotions and gives specific examples.

At the end of the book, the author assists the reader in mixing color. If you are not sure of primary and secondary colors, she has pages which explain those terms.

Our world is infused with color. Sophie Benini Pietromarchi wants her readers to be more observant and to fully enjoy the color we enjoy around us each day.
