DVD Review - Best Man Down
About the Movie
The “heartfelt, intelligent” (Examiner) and “warmly funny” (MovieWeb) comedy drama BEST MAN DOWN makes its way down the aisle on Blu-ray and DVD January 21 from Magnolia Home Entertainment. The film features “a brilliant cast” (Examiner) including Justin Long (“New Girl,” Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story), Jess Weixler (“The Good Wife”), Tyler Labine (Rise of the Planet of the Apes, “Reaper”), Addison Timlin (Stand Up Guys, Derailed), Shelley Long (“Modern Family,” “Cheers”) and Golden Globe® nominee Frances O’Connor (“Mr. Selfridge,” The Hunter). Filled with both sincerity and humor, BEST MAN DOWN “strikes a blissful tonal mix that turns one man's death into another man's enlightening journey” (We Got This Covered). The BEST MAN DOWN Blu-ray and DVD include AXS TV: A Look at Best Man Down and the theatrical trailer and will be available for the suggested retail prices of $29.98 and $26.98, respectively.

My Take on the Movie
The story begins at a wedding. The best man, Lumpy, has secrets no one knows and unfortunately drinks too much, falls , hits his head, and dies. As the couple travel to Minnesota for his funeral they also have the task of locating someone named Ramsey.
This is an emotional story about friendship, love, lies, misunderstandings, family, promises and secrets. The friendships last a life time. You never know someone until you know their secrets and possibly why they do the things they do in their life.
Lumpy showed his friendship by helping Ramsey. She did not give away his secrets. This movie shows that a friendship can last long after someone dies and bring new life for those who survive the loss of a friend or loved one.
