The Old Green Chair

About the Book
The Old Green Chair tells the story of a decrepit chair, thrown aside after years of use. Faced with the end of the road, it never loses its positive attitude and ultimately ends up in a happier situation.

It is the second in Traudi's House Series of Picture Books for Children, a series of modern fables that communicate key lessons to children. Each of the books tackles important topics, such as conflict resolution and maintaining a positive outlook, in ways that get families talking about valuable social skills.

My Take on the Book
What I love abut this story and the first on the series The Knife And The Fork Go Dancing is that they both are doing so much more than just telling a story, but instead they are sharing a life lesson that as a parent I want my daughters to learn. I loved the story itself, and the author does a great job at drawing you into the story from the beginning and keeping you connected to the very end. The illustrations were fun and engaging and the overall message is strong. The underlying point in this story is that things can always get better even when it does not seem like it can - always an important message for a child to grasp! This was a great story and one that I would encourage all to read!
