Book Review - Under the Sea (My First Creativity Activity Books)
About the Book
This title in Barron's growing series of My First Creativity Activity Books is filled with things to make and do, and has special appeal to boys and girls in pre-K through second grade. Its theme is the animals that live in or near the sea, and its appealing illustrations show fish, starfish, seals, and other animals children will recognize. Designed much like Barron's popular Creativity Activity Books for older children, books come in a slightly smaller size and present children with easier activities to accomplish. Every title in this series features--
Clever coloring exercises
Easy connect-the-dot drawing projects
Spot-the-difference illustrations
Mazes, puzzles, and simple construction activities
Four pages filled with 200 brightly illustrated color stickers
Fold-out double-page illustrations for decorating with stickers
Illustrations include 28 pages in color. Developed by educational experts to stimulate the imaginations of younger children, this attractive book will give boys and girls many hours of entertainment.
My Take on the Book
First, this book is not suited for children under the age of three years old. However it is a book for young children.
The activities include counting, matching, dot to dot, mazes, and stickers to complete unfinished activity pages. There are opportunities for the child to draw and use their own creative ideas. Making masks and finger puppets are two more activities in the book. This book definitely contains many opportunities for creative thinking and expression.
