DVD Review - Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days

About the Movie
Everybody’s favorite wimp, Greg Heffley (Zachary Gordon), is back for three times the fun in the latest film based on the super-popular book series! When Greg’s dad (Steve Zahn) threatens to send him to military school if he doesn’t stay out of trouble, Greg finds all-new ways to land himself in the doghouse! For starters, Greg’s in over his head when he pretends to work at the swanky country club where Rowley’s family has a membership. Things don’t go much better on a father-son camping trip with the Wilderness Explorers, and then there’s the Heffley’s new dog, Sweetie, who fetches even more trouble for Greg in this hilarious family film!

My Take on the Movie
My eldest daughter has read all of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid books and now I can say that we have seen all of the movies as well, and like the movies in the past, this stays true to form providing the viewer with some great moments that are funny and memorable.

What I love most about this movie and all of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid is how family friendly the movies are.  Also though, this movie is not just for the young, but I have to say that all ages will find the circumstances portrayed to be hilarious and the trouble that these kids can get into awe-inspiring.

Overall, I have to say that I enjoyed this thoroughly. As a parent I always am a bit wary to let my kids see movies unless I know exactly what is in them, but in this series of movies I can rest assured that the content is appropriate for school-aged kids, and all school aged kids will appreciate the situations that the characters have to face and deal with (but adults will also) and the family oriented nature of the film is also a big plus in my book!
