About the Book
The media feeds us distorted images of beauty and what an "ideal woman" should look like. Weight loss is nearly a $55 billion a year business. Ninety percent of high school girls diet regularly, even though only 10 to 15 percent would be considered truly overweight. In My Big Bottom Blessing, author Teasi Cannon speaks from personal experience, offering a way out of distorted body images and the pain of self-rejection. She says, "My obsession with fat and failure robbed me of a lot of the good in my life. God's definition of beauty has far more to do with what's going on inside of us than what's skin deep. I have been miraculously set free from the lie that being thin equals being beautiful."
My Big Bottom Blessing offers us Teasi's story—and real-life solutions for the millions of young women who struggle with poor self-esteem and feelings of inadequacy and rejection. She shows that God loves the whole person unconditionally and that whatever it is that you despise most about yourself (it doesn’t have to be weight) can become the catalyst for serious life change. From a search for self-acceptance to finding true love and contentment just as we are, Teasi proves that emotional pain can be healed and confidence found in knowing that authentic beauty comes in all shapes and sizes.
My Big Bottom Blessing is a joyful, compassionate, and wise guide from someone who knows the power of exchanging the way we look with a new way of seeing.
“The healing truths and humor in this book have been like a song to my spirit. Every woman will find herself—and a new way of seeing—in this life-changing book.”
Wynonna Judd, five-time Grammy winner and New York Times best-selling author of Coming Home to Myself
Regardless of what you weigh or the crazy diets you may have tried, My Big Bottom Blessing will set you free from the numbers game, to embrace God’s beautiful best for your life!”
Constance Rhodes, founder and CEO, FINDINGbalance and author of Life Inside the “Thin” Cage: A Personal Look into the Hidden World of the Chronic Dieter
“If you are tired of being defined by your pant size or three little numbers on a scale, My Big Bottom Blessing is for you. Snappy, authentic, and powerfully written, Teasi has finally given real women something BIG to cheer about.”
Allison Allen, Broadway actor and author of the forthcoming Windblown novel, The Magdalene

My Take on the Book
What was so great about this book was that it pulled together some great thoughts about self image in women. While I am not a woman, I am the father of two girls and am always concerned with the way that they see themselves as well as helping them make sense of the media that is pushing so much on them on a daily basis.
The book does an amazing job at engaging the reader through such a true and heartfelt story. Through reading this I can tell that this woman's story is an amazing one that many women will gravitate to and the way in which this was written was engaging and interactive and makes the reader think deeply about the words that she is sharing as well as the meaning behind them.
The book also shares some great resources with the reader and the connection to spirituality and God is deep and profound. You will feel connected to the experiences as well as to the spiritual ties that she is sharing with each and every reader.
This was a strong book that all will enjoy!

I love that you, as a Dad of young girls, reviewed this book, and are thinking about ways to help them grow up to be strong, confident women. I enjoyed this book as well. rather than just telling her readers about how she began to “think positive,” she became deeply aware of God’s love for her. Knowing she was God’s beloved made it possible for her to love herself.
