About the Book
LIFE Expectancy makes the case that many Americans do not yet fully appreciate the fact that the American economic game and the associated stakes have substantially changed over the past couple of years. LIFE Expectancy tells the truth about the financial challenges facing Americans now and in the decades ahead and urges a new form of self-reliance as the only way to get through.
The book demonstrates why it is mandatory to get started now and answers the question, "How can I be more proactive in the creation of the rest of my life?" LIFE Expectancy reveals the power and vitality that result from changing your game and why it is never too late-or too early- to do it. As the author says, "This book is for those who have decided that the continuation of the status quo cannot or will not be tolerated."
With seventy-five million children of the baby boom years moving through and past the age of sixty-five, and their children and grandchildren saddled with massive debt, many Americans find themselves in a very precarious situation at just the "wrong" time in their lives. If they don't wake up to the new reality and do it soon, at some point in the not too distant future they could be brutally blindsided by learning how insecure their future really is.
Those who can grasp the significance of the shift that has occurred-and who can take purposeful and timely actions in response to it-will get the best of the available options. Life Expectancy delivers the truth for those in the boomer generation who assumed they could be passive non-participants in life for their last twenty or so years. No longer true.
Previously in America, "old people" surrendered their liveliness and allowed the youth culture to dominate as they wasted away in retirement. This book makes the first strong argument for turning that paradigm on its head as the very solution to our country's problems. There is a whole new game for the boomer generation to play, and it's the opposite of fading away.
This book is about changing your life and work "games" for the better, no matter your current circumstances. It is about becoming the initiator of that change in the service of your best interests rather than continuing to be a reactor to the people and events around you. It is about being reflective and purposeful about your requirements and your direction.
Throughout LIFE Expectancy, the author offers key principles that can drive purposeful change including using your own mortality as a way of accessing your latent personal power. This is the how-to of "changing your game." There is every reason to feel good about confronting and proactively restructuring your game no matter your age or the maturity of your business.
If you know it is time to become your own powerful agent of change in your own service, this is the book for you. Even if everything is going well for you at the moment, if you haven't changed your approach in a while that is a very good reason to do it.
It is never too late to be more proactive in the creation that is the rest of your life. This book provides a clear blueprint for doing just that. It is truthful, motivating and is itself, game-changing.
My Take on the Book
This book will make you look at life in a completely different way! Too often we covet and consider things to be important that really are not very important at all and this book puts all of this into perspective and allows the reader the opportunity to re-evaluate what is important in the time that they have on this Earth. I found that this book will truly make you appreciate everything that you have in your life no matter who you are or what you do and I think that others will as well. I also found myself thinking back to many of my past experiences as I was going through this book, looking at them with fresh eyes. The book was one that I could just not put down as I wanted to see what would come next and I know that you will find this also! A Great book for any age!
