About the Book
The Many Adventures of Pengey the Penguin, the beloved children’s storybook about the tiny and endearing penguin, Pengey, will be joining the ranks of other e-reader stories with the charming cast of characters and twists in Pengey’s quest to find home.
The Many Adventures of Pengey the Penguin (San Francisco Story Works, Dec 2011), winner of the Family Choice Awards and USA Best Books Finalist, is a “bedtime story for the soul,” with a character that is wholesome and reminiscent of our favorite heroes. To read Pengey’s story is to feel empathetic and engaged in this brave little penguin’s harrowing adventures to return back to his first true friend, Wendy.
Soon after Pengey hatched, he found himself orphaned, alone and terribly hungry. The other penguins in Antarctica shunned the small Pengey, and one night after a terrible storm, he finds himself alone on an iceberg nearing a terrible demise. Luckily, the iceberg travels near some humans, and although Pengey is very weak, he studies the human’s words and mannerisms. Pengey proves to be an intelligent penguin with a special gift-- the ability to speak simple human words, yet with the most profound delivery.
The Many Adventures of Pengey the Penguin is a story of neglect and hope, of friendship and courage, proving that home is truly wherever you are loved.
Children and adults have long had a fascination with penguins. The charming flightless birds that have glided into our hearts, with films like Happy Feet and Happy Feet Two (opening this November), can be cherished even more with The Many Adventures of Pengey the Penguin. Being the polite penguin that he is, Pengey doesn’t mean to steal your heart, but he probably will!

My Take on the Book
This was a fun book for people of all ages. I loved the crazy adventures that Pengey gets himself into. I also love how the author has developed a penguin that is so likable and one that anyone can relate to. The book shares many messages, but overall, I love the message of determination and perseverance that one sees in the book from start to finish. I also like Pengey's open honesty as it is fresh and it it allows for the reader to see how this is a positive trait to have in one's own life. This book is definitely one that I would highly recommend to all!
