Dr. Darlington is a female author and award-winning professor, who has taught the principles of communication around the world. Early on in her life, Dr. Darlington pondered the existence of heaven and hell and wondered what it really took to gain entry into either. About Dr. Darlington
Patricia St. E. Darlington, Ph.D., is a writer and college professor who has dedicated her life to helping others reach their greatest potential. Dr. Darlington received a master’s degree in Mass Communication and Public Relations, and a Doctorate in Communication and Cognitive Psychology from the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. Dr. Darlington is currently an Associate Professor of Intercultural Communication at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida. She is the recipient of the 2011 FAU Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching and was nominated for the 2010 Inspire Integrity Award given by The National Society of Collegiate Scholars.
Dr. Darlington is the founder of the Not-for Profit organization Life Skills Academy, which is dedicated to the personal and social development of youth in order to create competent, effective, productive, global citizens, and Life Skills Training and Consulting, Inc., which provides educational services for corporations. She is the author of the forthcoming book entitled Cultural Minority Representation in the Media: A Historic View of Television’s Underserved, and co-author of the book entitled Women, Power and Ethnicity: Working Toward Reciprocal Empowerment. She is also the author of several scholarly journal articles. She has presented numerous workshops across the United States, including Hawaii, and in West Africa, on the value of diversity, personal empowerment and the power of women.
Dr. Darlington is an Ordained Non-Denominational Minister, and is the mother of three young adults, Bashir, Rolda, and Headley III. She lives in South Florida with her husband Headley II.

My Take on the Book
As a father of daughters, while I cannot relate to all of the situations that Dr. Darlington describes, I did get a few laughs at the situations that she describes and know that my daughters may be in similar situations in the future, so knowing some of these issues is of utmost importance to this Dad of Divas.
I even had my wife read a few chapters and she told me at the end of her reading that the book really hit her as well. In asking her to elaborate, she mentioned that many of the situations that were referred to in the book hit home to her and that she could see herself in the authors' shoes.
The author uses humor to get her point across, and even when I was reading this book I could see that the humor itself was such that it would keep people coming for more. I mean, even if you simply look at the chapter titles you can tell what I mean.
All-in-all though this book is written by and for women, it still was well written and would be one that I would share with the women in my life!
