Little Wolf's First Howling

About the Book
Some may favor the proper way to howl, but what if you have a song in your heart that needs to come out? A delightful, disarmingly funny tale for little and big wolves everywhere.

Little Wolf can hardly wait. Tonight he will howl at the moon to the top of the sky. First, Big Wolf demonstrates traditional howling form: AAAAAAAAAAOOOOOooooooooo. Then it’s Little Wolf’s turn. He’s sure he is ready, but when the big moment comes, something happens. Something unexpected, something wild, something unbe-beep-bop-believable! Sisters Laura McGee Kvasnosky and Kate McGee have created a wonderful story about the importance of doing things your own way and being true to your heart when it swells with wildness and joy.

My Take on the Book
This delightful story that a parent reading to their child will relate to right away. Father wolf takes his son to the wide open fields as it is time for the young wolf to show he can howl. Father tries his best to help him to it "right", but little wolf has his own howl. What I love about this book as father wolf finally realizes that his son is special and has a howl of his own which needs to be acknowledged and celebrated. You will love how father wolf shows his son he accepts his howl even though it is different from his howl.

The illustrations are beautiful and are perfect for this special story.
