About the Book
Through the Real Lives books, children will meet some remarkable individuals who refused to accept the status quo.

Each entry in these riveting books explores how these individuals had an extraordinary impact on the world, coming from all four corners of the globe, all walks of life, and across many different disciplines. In Fearless Women, kids will discover stories about women who stood up for what they believed in and changed the world for the better. Includes Rosa Parks, Malala Yousafzai, Irena Sendler, Marie Curie, Jane Goodall, Indira Gandhi, Amelia Earhart, Maya Angelou, Josephine Baker, and more. There are women of science and medicine, war and peace, politicians and peacemakers, social activists and resistance fighters, and more. Bold color schemes and a stylized photograph or illustration of the subject make these books hard to resist. Children will be drawn to these visually appealing books and find the stories inside of them fascinating and thought-provoking.

My Take on the Book
The authors selected over 25 women for this book. Some of the women are young and still alive like Malala Yousafzae. Other women lived long ago like Marie Curie. Each amazing woman is honored because she challenged society's ideas about the roles of women.

Here are a few women highlighted in this book: Coco Chanel is world known as a fashion designer. Her early years were spent in an orphanage where she learned to sew. She designed the famous little black dress and the Chanel suit.

Fatima Noor was a Somali journalist who could have been killed for sharing her views in the presence of men. Her parents refused to pay for her training to become a journalist. She is still a journalist.

I believe you and your child will enjoy reading and learning about these courageous women who took risks to do whatever they thought was right.
