Marcus and his crew, will he decide that being “cool” isn’t all it’s cracked up to be? Readers ages 8 to 12 love Nate’s relatable stories, style, and attitude, which is why Big Nate books have sold more than 5 million copies and Big Nate Island is one of the biggest sensations on Poptropica.com, the web’s fastest growing virtual world for kids.

My Take on the Book
The book is set up as short stories in a comic strip format. The main character Nate is pictured within many scenarios. He is at home in a conversation with family, at school with teachers, principal, and friends, playing sports like soccer, trick or treating with friends, and even more. The situations are typical events in a life of a young person but Lincoln Peirce has found a way to bring humor into each one.

One funny story takes place on the evening of Nate and his friends trick or treating. His friends are teasing him about his rabbit costume, but Nate insists his costume has "benefits". So what are the benefits? Well, some girls come along who love Nate's soft rabbit costume and proceed to give him hugs. Nate just smiles at his friends enjoying his "benefits".
Nate has a sense of humor which can sometimes get him into trouble. Nate also has a way of inserting the right comments at the correct time in a situation too. Each strip was interesting to read and I think you will enjoy it also.
