About the Book
It's Alright to Look Different is a short story with colorful illustrations about a little chick who was born a different color than the other chicks. He was ignored and separated from the group because of how he looked. One night he was the only one who was able to save them from a hungry fox and became their hero. This is a heart warming story about how it is alright to look different. Suitable for all ages and targeted for 24 months to 5 years old.

My Take on the Book
Such a nice story with a message all our children should hear today. The message is to be friendly and kind to everyone you meet, even if they look different.

I would think even very young children can identify with the chick who is not the same color as his brothers and sisters in the book. I think they can understand what it is like to not be included in games and friendship.

My feeling is this story could initiate a discussion with your child about the theme of the story. Benedict Coulter has written a story which I believe you and your child will read together often.
