About the Book
She's smart as a whip, super sleuth-y, and able to solve most mysterious mysteries and perplexing problems in no time flat. Mariella Mystery (age nine and a bit) knows that all good detectives write down important information about their investigations. In this top-secret journal she tackles the case of the ghostly guinea pig with important clues and observations, helpful drawings, and handy tips for new detectives. Early readers will be hooked on this mystery chapter book from page one!

My Take on the Book
This was a fun story, the way it was written reminds me a lot of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid stories as it is formatted in such a way that it varies from journal entry to timeline to dialogue and my eldest daughter simply loved this. My eldest also loves a good mystery so this book was a perfect fit. The book provides a nice combination of humor and mystery to make the overall book fun and lively. All-in-all the book was a quick read, but it engaged my daughter from beginning to end and in the end she was excited about reading her next Mariella Mystery story!
