About the Book
There is a storm brewing on the Flying Dragon, and it's not about the weather. When the crew finds themselves parched and not enough juice to go around, blame falls on Matie the goat, Hallie's friend. Divided, they square off, ready for a fight and Captain No Beard must teach his crew that not only is bullying wrong, they must learn to value and respect each and every member of the crew. Watch the crew of the Flying Dragon learn an important lesson about being a true friend.

My Take on the Book
Captain No Beard has a problem on his ship. The new crew member, a goat, is being bullied and eased by most of the crew.

What will the Captain do to solve this problem? He helps the crew to realize that each of them has special strengths and weaknesses and just because they are different does not mean that person is not worthy to be respected and treated with kindness.

Captain No Beard assists his crew in realizing bullying is wrong, however he does this without creating shame for those who were unkind.

Eventually the crew apologizes to the goat and the goat uses one of his strengths to assist the crew with a problem they needed to solve.

Bullying is prevalent in our society. Adults need to find avenues for children to appreciate each person's unique strengths and differences. They must also see that we are alike in so many ways too. Maybe this story shared with children, can become an avenue for discussion and support for the issue of obliterating bullying.
