Skeleton for Dinner

About the Book
Big Witch and Little Witch have made stew, and now they want to have their friends for dinner! But when Skeleton mistakes the guest list for a menu, he takes off running, and soon Ghost and Ghoul join him too! But poor Little Witch has no idea there's a misunderstanding. Luckily there's one creature in the haunted forest who can help everyone figure it all out.

This spooky and silly read-aloud is just right for Halloween.

My Take on the Book
This is a story about misconceptions and how they can create anxiety and fear. The main character, a skeleton, misreads a notice and assumes the worse. He includes in spreading the information to his friends a ghost and ghoul. Of course they become frightened too at the aspect of becoming the dinner.

The dinner scene is rescued by a crow who interprets the misunderstanding and sets the invited guests straight about what is for dinner.

Margery Cuyler wrote a cute story which I believe children will enjoy.
