About the Book
On their trip to Oregon, the Aldens are excited to find out that Watch has the right skills to be a search and rescue dog! When they start training him in the woods one of the first things he "rescues" is a backpack filled with valuable jewelry--and it fell out of a plane! How could that have happened? When the children try to return the backpack to its owner, the mystery becomes even deeper!

About the Author
Gertrude Chandler Warner was born in Putnam, Connecticut, on April 16, 1890, to Edgar and Jane Warner. Her family included a sister, Frances, and a brother, John. From the age of five, she dreamed of becoming an author. She wrote stories for her Grandfather Carpenter, and each Christmas she gave him one of these stories as a gift. Today, Ms. Warner is best remembered as the author of The Boxcar Children Mysteries.

My Take on the Book
I cannot say enough great things about this series of books! Not only do my girls love the characters, but the mysteries are fun, engaging and keep you guessing until the end. In this one Watch, the kids' dog "rescues" a mysterious bag filled with amazing things, and it is up to the kids to figure out where it came from and then figure out the mystery behind the owner too. This was a great story that my daughters loved. While it is only one of many stories, it definitely stood out and we could not put it down!
