Full Ratchet

About the Book
FULL RATCHET by Mike Cooper is the fast-paced sequel thriller to Clawback. Tough-guy Silas Cade goes from Wall Street to Main Street to clean up a dubious rust-belt manufacturer, opening a plot that starts with Russian assassins and ends on the doorstep of the richest man in America. In FULL RATCHET, Cooper again delivers a timely plot of modern corruption, honest labor and bankster greed.

It’s just a favor for a friend, but then a simple audit at a Pittsburgh manufacturer goes twisty when the entire company proves corrupt. Silas handles it his usual way—gunsmoke and blood—but Russian mafiya and a ruthless blonde killer named Harmony arrive to complicate the final report. Meanwhile, Silas has tracked down his mysterious brother Dave, who is drawn into the fray when his backwoods garage is destroyed by armored assault.

Firefights erupt across western Pennsylvania as the assignment slides into anarchy. While Silas and Harmony are emptying nine-mils at each other, an attraction develops. The real bad guy turns out to be someone so unexpected—so respected and worthy—it feels like they’ve caught Santa Claus sending goons to kneecap the Easter Bunny, and Harmony switches sides with a vengeance.

A climactic showdown blasts across the forests, defunct steel mills, and fracking fields of Appalachia. Confronting ex-SOF mercenaries, spetnaz enforcers and the fourth richest man in the world, Silas and Harmony have only pure hearts, stolen guns—and Dave’s driving skills—to save them.

Silas is a charismatic series protagonist with a specialty we haven’t seen before: hit man accountant. With even more bullets than Clawback and the same breed of smart, suspense-filled action, FULL RATCHET will have readers clamoring for more.

My Take on the Book
This was a action packed novel that almost seemed to come out of Hollywood as it had a bit of everything. Not only was there action (which I expected), but there was also mystery, suspense, drama, some romance and even more. On top of this you get a well written plot and strong characters - what more could you ask for! I really liked the main character as the author did a good job at providing depth to the character itself, while allowing the character to interact with other characters that were well developed as well. The book is also a page-turner and I found that I did not want to put the book down after I started it. The more that I read the more I was drawn into the story itself. I highly recommend this to all!
