CD Review - JJ Heller's Album - Loved

About the CD
When JJ Heller and her husband/co-writer, Dave, began writing for their sixth studio album LOVED, life looked a few shades darker, more painful and confusing than it had during the work on their work of the recent past. Over the past few years, the duo steered much of their material toward the whimsical and simple joys of life, love and new parenthood. But, when confronted by illness, death and broken marriages within their community, the Hellers chose to stay true to the weight of their season of life when crafting lyrics this time around. "LOVED is a collection of songs that belong together; there's a common thread connecting all of them," JJ says. "It's setting our sights on the horizon opposed to the few steps in front of us. It's an album about resolve. It’s about steeling ourselves for the journey in front of us, but being assured of who we are and where our destiny lies."

The 10 original songs on LOVED serve as a reminder to hope in a future restoration! The lyrics are consistently calling the listener to step out of fear and into trust; to rest easier through life's trials.

My Take on the CD
This was a wonderful CD with songs that will draw you in from start to finish. One of my favorites on the CD was "For You". JJ Heller's songs are soulful and spiritual and make you want to truly see the beauty of the life that you have and the world around you. While I know that many of her earlier songs were more lighthearted, I loved this transition into a more serious side of the duo, and can see her thriving with both types of music. All-in-all, this is a great CD that you need to listen to, as it will bring you closer to not only the people around you, but also the things that matter most in you own life.
