Book Review - Olive and the Big Secret

About the Book
Olive learns the hard way that keeping secrets is tough, and telling them can make for a whole lot of trouble!

When Molly shares a secret with Olive, the urge to tell is just too great! Olive tells Joe who tells Matt who tells Lola. But Lola is best friends with Molly. Uh-oh, the secret is out, and Olive is in for it!

My Take on the Book
This story by Tor Freeman is worth reading to your child. Although it is short , it presents the important concept of keeping a secret. You child will learn that a recipient of a secret is supposed to not divulge the content. The story shows what happens as Olive shares the secret that her friend entrusted her with at the beginning of the story.

The story represents a good opportunity to discuss the concept of a secret. What does it mean to keep a secret? What are the ramifications of sharing a secret? How would you feel if someone told a secret you told them? The questions are endless.

The illustrations and facial expressions clearly show the characters' feelings. It is book I feel you and your child will enjoy together.
