Giving Seniors a New Pal™ for the Holidays

About the Product
Staying connected with family and friends, while important throughout the year, becomes even more meaningful around the winter holidays. Clarity’s Pal™, a new cellphone designed specifically for older consumers with hearing loss, helps to ensure holiday greetings come through – ringing, singing or speaking – loud and clear.

With 25 decibels of amplification, Pal is an ideal solution for the 36 million aging Americans with hearing loss. In lieu of unnecessary apps, Pal is built with features specific to the needs of older consumers such as amplified sound, large and illuminated dial pad and a one-touch emergency button. Importantly, the phone is compatible with hearing aids, and its boost and adjustable tone control buttons give users the option to customize their listening experience to their particular degree of hearing loss.

Pal is an unlocked GSM phone that customers can use with the wireless phone service of their choice. To learn more about and order Pal online for $99, go to www.claritypal.com.

Clarity launched Pal in May 2012, receiving positive remarks from reviewers and individual users alike. PC Magazine wrote, “ ... if you have trouble hearing, and want the loudest phone possible, the Clarity Pal can't be beat.” Others agreed:

“[Pal] is a good choice for family members who want a simple phone and might appreciate a little (or a lot) of extra volume.” – Dallas Morning News

“For those interested in a simple, easy-to-use device, either for themselves or for a loved one, the Pal may be a good fit.” – CNET

“[Pal] offers help for those of us with fading hearing and fading sight.” – Tech Goes Strong

“Finding the right gift for an older parent or grandparent isn’t easy in a world where most products are aimed at younger generations,” said Carsten Trads, president of Clarity. “Our cellphone Pal is a ‘senior-smart’ choice because it addresses common concerns people face as they age from hearing and vision loss to safety and security. Most importantly, Pal keeps seniors in touch with friends and relatives this holiday season and throughout the year.”

My Take on the Product
This is a great phone for any senior that is having any difficulty with hearing as it does an amazing job at amplifying sound. On top of this the buttons are made larger and the printing on these numbers are also much larger for eyes that may need assistance and to assist with dexterity issues. I really liked the fact that the phone could be added onto any network and that it adds on some of the same features that you will find on some of the smart phones today. My grandmother who is in her upper 80's has a cell phone, but I know that sometimes it is too soft for her and it is small as well which makes it more difficult for her to use and thus she does not tend to use it much. I believe that this phone will open up cellular service to her as it will provide her with the ability not only to hear, but also to use the phone in a much easier way. I highly encourage you to consider this for any of your loved ones that could benefit form it's service!
