Book Review - Rangoli: An Indian Art Activity Book

About the Book
Rangoli: An Indian Art Activity Book is a multicultural drawing book that introduces kids to the popular and versatile art form from India called rangoli. After a few initial step-by-step examples, the book offers a variety of designs with easy-to-follow colored lines to simplify, inform, and inspire children. By using dot grids as the foundation for drawing - a technique followed by millions of Indians over many generations - it also encourages children to unleash their creativity and explore possibilities by offering a variety of fun ways to use the grids. Included are over 100 pages of designs and grids for exploring, including geometric shapes, mazes, optical illusions, 3D images, nature, and more.

My Take on the Book
This book was so interesting and so much fun. I had never heard about this art form in the past, but this book spells out the art form in a step-by-step manner and allows for the reader to learn completely how to make similar beautiful art pieces. What I loved about the book was that it was written for all ages and not just for kids. I had fun trying this out and made some very cool designs with my eldest daughter. All-in-all this was fun and for anyone that wishes to explore their own inner artist!

  2. Rangolis is a very old art form of India usually drawn on the floor in
our homes. Nice of you to have reviewed a book on this art.
