Book Review - The Girls' Ghost Hunting Guide

About the Book
The Girl’s Ghost Hunting Guide is a bright, interactive journal for tweens who are no longer content to watch movies or read about ghosts online, but are ready to jump into the paranormal fray themselves. With workbook pages, ghost stories, quizzes, sidebars, and interviews with ghost hunters, this illustrated guidebook gives girls the tools to safely explore the unknown using everyday household items and teaches them to rely on their own strengths, deductive reasoning, and senses to discover the paranormal beings among us. Part practical, part educational, Graham introduces girls to a world beyond our own.

And just in time for warm weather! The Girl’s Ghost Hunting Guide is sure to become a must-have at this summer’s slumber parties with everything a girl needs for a night of fun including:

  • Spooky urban legends to set the mood
  • Must-have stuff for your ghost hunting kit
  • Pointers for leading the best-ever ghost hunt
  • Tips for writing your own ghost
  • With fun quizzes, games, recipes, and more!

So grab the flashlights, the compasses, and of course the marshmallows to investigate the unknown. But be warned, this is not your grandmother’s ghost guide.

So gather your friends if they are brave enough, grab a flashlight, and go investigate! And who knows…maybe you’ll encounter the ghost of Moaning Myrtle’s American cousin?

My Take on the Book
This was a fun guide for any tween who wants to plan fun sleepover for her friends! The book is laid out to be easy to follow and provides step-by-step instructions on how to make the party fun for all! On top of this, the book educates as well, providing the reader some great insight into urban legend as well as the basics for ghost hunting that all need when starting a hunt of your own. The book had some great images that added to the book, but I have to say that for my own daughter (who is a trickster), she loved the practical jokes that are spattered in the book for the reader to try for themselves (I have already fell victim to at least one of these). Overall, this was a fun read for anyone interested in the paranormal, or who want to have some fun with friends.
