Book Review - Life’s Compass

About the Book
‘Life’s Compass’ takes readers on a journey to find their way, and offers insight and guidance to those who are seeking it.

Life’s Compass: A Guide to Knowing Where You Come From and Where You are Going is written by an anonymous author whose only goal is to help those along their journey to God and assist them in finding their way to their own light.

Opening with a clever analogy that compares the minor adjustments one must make to a compass to make sure it points due North in different parts of the world to the adjustments we all must make when we are looking for a purpose greater then ourselves, Life’s Compass is written in a creative and familiar voice.

Leaning heavily on the importance of knowing one’s goals and staying true to them despite opposition or discouragement, the author uses passages from the Bible to emphasize the message he wishes to get across: that each of us has a direction, and we must find it to truly discover who God wants us to be. Using our “spiritual compass”, we can be sure that we are walking the path that we are meant to.

The author’s vast experience in working with people on all walks of life, from social services and child welfare to assisting federal inmates with integration back into society, lends itself to his surety of his path and the drive to help others find theirs. As an internationally certified drug and alcohol counselor, the author’s compassion for those who are working their way through the darkness and toward the light shines through in his book, giving hope and guidance to those who need it the most.

An enlightening and inspiring guide for anyone searching for their path, Life’s Compass combines words from the Bible and the author’s own experiences to provide readers with hope and genuine faith in themselves, their futures, and their lives.

My Take on the Book
This was a book that took an interesting approach to looking at spirituality and how one can live through the tenets of the bible and use its teaching as a compass to guide you in your own path. The book was well laid out and I found it to be quite intuitive. I enjoyed how each of the sections that were introduced were connected to biblical verse. This brought everything home for me and allowed me to better understand not only what the author was sharing but even more, how God's teachings can truly help me in my daily life (even more that I already understood it). All-in-all, this was a great book that will make you look introspectively at yourself, and come out with great ideas about how you can become an overall better person in the end!
