Book Review - Getting Beyond "Whatever": The Guide to Teen Self-Esteem and Happiness

About the Book
Being a teenager is not easy but it doesn't have to be that way. This inspirational and inclusive "A to Z" guide shows teenagers how to move beyond apathy so that they can seize control of their lives and find enduring happiness.

About the Author
Shale Preston, PhD, is an author and lecturer. She holds a doctorate in English literature. Her key research interests are the works of Charles Dickens, Neo-Victorian fiction and life writing.

My Take on the Book
The author has done a great job at laying out a book that not only is easy to follow, but also easy to understand and implement within the home. Each Chapter of the book relates to a letter form the alphabet, making the concepts digestible. At the same time the chapters are only about one page, so very easy to get through. The concepts provided were strong and insightful and helps any teen to get more in tune with the world around them and the things that they should be considering as they progress through their teenage years. I also really enjoyed the affirmations in each chapters as they were positive, uplifting and motivational as any good affirmation should be. This was a great book that I would highly recommend to any teen, or parent of a teen!
