Book Review - Today on Election Day

About the Book
The school gym is a polling place, and Bailey, Ren, David, Meg, Aiden, and Isabella know all about Election Day and voting! Bailey helped her Aunt Julia run for a seat on the city council. Aiden goes with his grandpa to vote. David's brother Jake will be voting for the first time. Meg talks about how years ago, some citizens were not permitted to vote. A perfect picture book for future voters of America, Today on Election Day will simultaneously entertain and educate.

My Take on the Book
This book has arrived just in time for the 2012 elections in November. How fortunate for teachers and parents to share the story with their young people in their lives. The story relates the history of voting and the struggles of women and minorities. It describes the process and how important it is to take your responsibility to vote seriously. I feel this book is an important piece to the education of our young future voters. Share it with them today before our voting takes place in November. Remember your vote will help make history in our democratic country.
