Book Review - The Buzz on Honeybees

About the Book
Itty Bitty Betty, the Storytelling Honeybee, takes children on an educational adventure. With Betty as a guide, children learn that one out of every three mouthfuls of food we eat is a direct result of bee pollination--pretty heavy stuff for such tiny little insects! Betty's stories are illustrated with meticulously detailed and beautifully painted representations of bees and their habits. Nationally known beekeeper Jim Ovbey even makes a cameo appearance in one of Betty's tales. The stories are enhanced by definitions of key terms and explanations of bee behavior. Filled with interesting facts, this story from the littlest of bees gives us plenty to think about.

My Take on the Book
What do you know about honeybees? Are you interested in learning more? I found this an excellent resource for anyone who is curious about honeybees and I surely learned a lot. There are excellent facts with accompanying illustrations. You will have a new appreciation for these hard working insects and their contribution to our food sources and environment. I see this book as a great addition to a family or school library.
