Book Review - The Kid Dictionary

About the Book
Have a kid? Know a kid? Been a kid? Have you ever been left utterly speechless by the wit, wisdom, grossness, and hilarity that accompanies children wherever they go? The Kid Dictionary has the ingenious and hilarious words you need to describe the indescribable: life with kids.

Humorous, insightful, and unique, it’s perfect for anyone with kids even remotely in their life--from expectant parents to aunts and uncles. With clever word play and insights that will make you wince in sympathy or laugh out loud and think, “thank goodness that’s not me! (yet),” The Kid Dictionary provides adults everywhere with the vernacular to discuss the little harridans, er, angels we love:

About The Author
Eric Ruhalter works in television in NYC, making commercials about movies. At night, he comes home to his wife Kara and their three rambunctious children. There, he’s able to step inside of himself to write down the unique and unusual observations that inspire him. He also enjoys editing video, pimping his work via social media, surfing, Frisbee, and ping pong. He studied economics at Dickinson College where he learned that he’s not the least bit interested in the theories of economics. So rather than study, he spent most of his time writing.

My Take on the Book
Eric Ruhalter has written a truly creative, hilarious, and entertaining book to read. He comes across as an adult with the heart and joy of a child. If I was one of his children I would think he as a "fun dad" to live with.

His book is full of new words that he created from his life and environment. Eric takes common life experiences and describes them in a new way using a dictionary format.

For example: ERAPICRAP is the word for purging your playroom of old toys when your kids aren't around to protest. SHOTUP is the word used to describe when a parent neglects to mention to their child her visit to the doctor will yield not only a sticker and lollipop but also a sharp needle jabbed into her arm. THUMBLE means to speak incoherently with one's fingers in his mouth.

These are only a few of the new words which will bring laughter to your life as a parent, aunt, uncle, or grandparent. Enjoy.
