Telenav Unveils Scout, a tool to help families discover new places

Any parent will tell you it’s hard to keep coming up with new, fun activities to keep the whole family entertained—especially if you’re not ready to spend an arm and a leg on travel to exotic locations. However, a new survey by GPS provider Telenav found that people were largely in the dark about the wonderful businesses, restaurants and activities right around them—an untapped well of new experiences, right on your doorstep! The survey found U.S. drivers get stuck in a rut for a few main reasons: 48% don’t know what’s good, 24% don’t know what’s out there and 12% don’t know how to get to new places. Check out this infographic for more results from the Telenav survey, including how many people don’t know how to find the nearest museum, emergency room or sports bar.

Luckily for busy parents, Telenav today launched a new brand called Scout from the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. In a nutshell, Scout lets you easily discover and navigate to new restaurants, businesses and activities—and break out of the tedium of your everyday routine. Additional information about Telenav’s survey and new product can be found here.
