Snapfish Announces Spread Some Snappiness: Celebrate the people who inspired you this year!

In celebration of the upcoming holidays and to encourage customers to spread a little cheer this holiday season, Snapfish by HP has launched a new Facebook campaign, “Spread Some Snappiness,” on its Facebook fan page at www.facebook.com/snapfish

“Spread Some Snappiness” was inspired by Snappy, the Snapfish mascot, and features three simple and heartfelt values: celebrate, honor and share. The campaign invites users to dedicate a photo of someone special with a personal message on Facebook for a free holiday surprise for both the sender and recipient.
For every person who shares a photo, Snapfish will make a $1 donation to the Make-A-Wish Foundation®, up to a maximum of $150,000, to help make wishes come true.

“A photo captures a moment but continues to live on as the happiness it brings is spread between friends and family,” said Barry Herstein, chief marketing officer, Snapfish by HP. “With this campaign, we hope to inspire people to highlight those who made them smile and encourage them to continue spreading their happy moments for years to come, beginning with a gift from Snapfish.

Once a user “Likes” the Snapfish Facebook fan page, they can access the “Spread Some Snappiness” photo album to see photos and messages from other users. When users are ready to dedicate their own special memories to someone, they can do so in three simple steps:
  • Celebrate: Choose any person who has made a difference in their lives this year to spread thanks, joy or good wishes this holiday season.
  • Honor: Upload a cherished photo from 2010 with a short message to express how much that person means to them (including the email address and name of recipient).
  • Share: Share the photo with the person who inspires them the most and with the Snapfish family via Facebook. The photo and special message will be shared on that friend’s Facebook Wall and in the “Spread Some Snappiness” photo album.

For every photo and message shared by registered Facebook users, they will receive a $5 credit toward any gift on Snapfish.com (limit one per person). The recipient also will receive a $5 credit.

Users also will have the opportunity to pick their favorite picture from the “Spread Some Snappiness” photo album, which includes all submitted photos from registered users. The people who submitted the 10 images that receive the most votes (“Likes”) will each win a ”year of free prints” (up to 1,000 prints), announced on Jan. 7, 2011.

Snapfish announced its relationship with the Make-A-Wish Foundation last year through the introduction of WISH! custom cover photo books, with 30 percent of the purchase price going to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. This year, in addition to the WISH! custom photo books, Snapfish has introduced WISH! holiday cards, with approximately 12 percent of the purchase price going back to the Foundation.
