Walmart Unwraps Its “Top Toys” with Unbeatable Savings for the Holidays

Walmart (NYSE: WMT) today announces aggressive plans to provide consumers with the best selection of the hottest toys at the best prices this holiday season, helping families bring home more toys for less. To help parents identify the most sought-after toys, the retailer unveils today its Top Toys. Later this week, Walmart is launching the ultimate in-store and online resources for toys, offering parents its first ever 52-page toy catalog, and a dedicated section online for Top Toys at www.walmart.com/toptoys, featuring toy demos and customer ratings and reviews. Walmart’s exclusive savings on Top Toys start nationwide Nov. 5, and to help customers save even more, Walmart will also offer free shipping on all of its “Top Toys” at Walmart.com.
 
“We understand toys are at the top of every kid’s wishlist, but knowing which toys to trust and choose can be challenging for parents,” said Laura Phillips, senior vice president of toys and seasonal merchandising, Walmart.  “Our Top Toys list and the helpful tools we’ve introduced this year make it easier than ever to find this season’s best toys at unbeatable prices.” 
 
Top Toys Bring Popular Toys to the Forefront for Families
Walmart worked with parents and suppliers throughout the year to identify its final list of Top Toys. The selection delivers on this year’s toy trends highlighting educational and aspirational toys, toys based on popular licenses, and board games for fun-packed family nights. Customers can rest assured they’ll receive the best savings at Walmart since the retailer will always match the price of any local competitor’s printed ad for an identical product right at the cash register1. In addition, more than 80% of the Toy Insider Hot Toys for the season are available at Walmart stores nationwide and on Walmart.com, making holiday shopping convenient and affordable for parents and grandparents. The Toy Insider is a leading annual consumer guide for parents of the hottest toys and gifts for the holidays. 
 
Walmart’s 52-page toy catalog features a wide assortment of the hottest toys that moms will have on their shopping lists, and will be accessible online in English and Spanish at (www.walmart.com/toycatalog) starting Friday, Nov 5, 2010.2  The retailer will also launch an online Toy Finder to provide parents and grandparents with toy recommendations tailored to their budget and each child’s age and interest. The Toy Finder will be available online next week at www.walmart.com/toyfinder.
