Veggiecation: Getting Kids to Love Their Vegetables
The Veggiecation Program today announced two new kids programs to expand its educational offerings beyond the classroom with Veggiecation At-Home and Veggiecation After-School. Veggiecation’s original in-school program is the only curriculum based elementary school lunch program of its kind, linking lessons in the classroom to experiences in school lunchrooms. With its two new programs, Veggiecation is providing parents and community leaders the essential tools to teach kids life-long healthy eating habits.
With Veggiecation At-Home parents can grow with their kids the love of vegetables while imparting upon them vital health and nutrition knowledge so they understand how and why to make healthy food choices. Veggiecation At-Home comes with the Veggiecation Family Recipe Book, complete with 36 easy to make and healthful recipes to cook with the entire family; Veggiecation Activity Book for kids, including coloring pages, word games, Veggiecation Fun Facts and more; Veggiecation “I Tried It” stickers that the family can display together when they try a new vegetable; and “Veggiecation Across the Nation” theme song in audio CD for the family to sing about their love of vegetables; and official Veggiecation dance with instructional dance video to get the family moving. For private group classes, Veggiecation After-School is ideal for children’s cooking classes that can be organized by parents, community centers and youth groups. Veggiecation After-School provides the group
instructor with one Veggiecation Seasonal Recipe Book that includes 36 simple and healthful Veggiecation recipes to cook with a group of kids; 25 Veggiecation Activity Books for kids; 9 Veggie of the Month informational posters that provide science, nutrition and geography lessons; “Veggiecation Across the Nation” theme song in audio CD and Veggiecation instructional dance video; one Veggiecation Box Ballot and related
materials for kids to vote on Veggiecation recipes, empowering kids to taste new foods by sharing their opinions; 25 sets of Veggiecation “I Tried It” stickers; and 25 Veggiecation Take Home Recipe Books for kids to share with their families.
